Steamships is seeking a detail-oriented Crewing Officer to maintain accurate crew records and assist in crew administration ensuring vessel compliance in Papua New Guinea.

Steamships is a leading company in Ship Management, specializing in logistics and maritime operations in Papua New Guinea. This role demands high accuracy, integrity, and professionalism in managing crew records and compliance with manning requirements.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.

  • Maintain complete, accurate and updated crew records at all times.
  • Maintain and upload individual crew personal files with full information on TM-Master system.
  • Efficiently manage revalidation or renewal of crew documents.
  • Ensure vessels are manned according to minimum manning requirements and compliance.
  • Provide administrative assistance in recruitment of new crew hires.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Human Resource Management or related field.
  • At least four years of experience in Crew Admin/Manning or Human Resource department.
  • Strong commitment to job requirements and timely task completion.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Good communication skills.
