Atlas Steel PNG seeks experienced Industrial Painters & Sandblasters to join their Lae-based team. Candidates with strong surface preparation and sandblasting skills are encouraged to apply by May 22, 2026.

Atlas Steel – P.N.G. is hiring skilled Industrial Painters and Sandblasters to work in their manufacturing operations based in Lae, Papua New Guinea. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with at least 5 years of experience and practical knowledge in surface preparation and sandblasting techniques to join a respected company supporting local industry.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.

  • Prepare surface areas properly before painting and abrasive blasting.
  • Operate sandblasting equipment safely and maintain standard microns for paint mixing.
  • Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Follow instructions carefully and exhibit strong hands-on work ethic.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth teamwork and project success.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in industrial painting and sandblasting.
  • Trade Certificate is an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of surface preparation for painting and abrasive blasting.
  • Ability to mix and maintain paint micron standards.
  • Strong communication skills and physical fitness.
