Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.

  • Assist in gathering geotechnical data for analysis and studies to assess site condition.
  • Assist in gathering QAQC information on concrete, underground support and other relevant Geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Assist in performing field and environmental investigations for geotechnical Engineers.
  • Analyze geotechnical findings, assist Geotechnical Engineers with performing appropriate calculations and prepare data for reports.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.

  • Trade certificate in Electronics and/or IT Communications.
  • Relevant qualifications in Civil engineering, surveying, mechanical engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in geotechnical or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical data analysis, calculations, and reporting.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent master data systems.
  • Strong safety focus and knowledge of mine operating procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills with clear communication to supervisors and mining personnel.
