World Vision seeks a motivated Finance & Accounting Coordinator in Western Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea, to support financial services and grant management for donor accountability in its programs.

World Vision, with over 75 years of experience, invites applications for a Finance & Accounting Coordinator based in Western Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea. The role supports financial services, including budget control, monitoring, reporting, and grant file maintenance to ensure donor accountability and program efficiency. This full-time position requires a professional committed to helping vulnerable children through excellent financial management within World Vision’s nonprofit framework.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.

  • Ensure timely submission of complete and accurate financial reports in compliance with GAAP, WVI and donor requirements.
  • Provide monthly financial information/reports on different Projects to Project Managers for monitoring expenditure and planning.
  • Provide technical advice to program staff and coordinate preparation of grant proposal budgets, including revisions.
  • Build capacity of non-finance staff in donor/grant regulations and provide technical support to project teams and partners.
  • Ensure proper filing and accessibility of all grant-related documents from proposal to final report stages.
  • Conduct periodic visits to subrecipients and implementing partners to ensure compliance with donor regulations.
  • Coordinate with audits and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Grant Finance Managers & Operations Supervisors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.

  • Degree in Accounting or Accounting Technician Competency – PNGIA/Business Management and Accounting required.
  • Knowledge of Sun system or other Accounting software essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills needed for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Fair knowledge of Global Fund Guidelines preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) mandatory.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Global Fund financial management highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Physically fit with no underlying medical conditions.
  • Willingness to travel within area programs and work on weekends or short notice.
