St Barbara Limited is excited to hire a full-time Management Accountant based in Perth CBD. This role is vital to supporting the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and management reporting with accuracy and insightful analysis. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.
- Accurately complete month-end management accounting tasks including journals, accruals, and reconciliations promptly.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis with detailed commentary against budgets and forecasts.
- Coordinate and deliver annual budgeting and periodic forecasting with stakeholders ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide insightful cost accounting and analysis to support operational performance and control costs.
- Deliver performance reports and analytics focusing on business risks, opportunities, and leadership priorities.
- Support consolidation of group management and financial reporting each month.
- Assist accounts payable by reviewing invoices and bank details before payments.
- Empower department managers to monitor and manage key performance indicators.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and reporting while promoting best practices within the finance team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
- CA, CPA or CIMA qualification or actively pursuing accreditation.
- Experience in management accounting, financial planning and analysis, or related finance roles.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and management accounts.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-motivated with excellent time and priority management.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems like Pronto or similar.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial modelling, and business planning.
- Experience in the mining or similar asset-intensive industry.
