Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND) in Lautoka, Fiji seeks a Training & Livelihood Officer to lead community-based trainings and strengthen local skills and livelihoods.
The Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND) is looking for a Training & Livelihood Officer to join their Programs Team in Lautoka, Fiji. This role involves planning, facilitating, and supporting community trainings focused on livelihoods, skills development, and resilience building.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.
- Plan, organize, and conduct various community-level trainings (livelihoods, food security, social empowerment, climate resilience, financial literacy, etc.)
- Support communities during training implementation and follow-up activities
- Prepare training reports, attendance records, activity documentation, and progress updates
- Maintain accurate records and databases using Excel
- Expert in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) requirements
- Coordinate logistics for trainings, including travel to rural and remote communities
- Manage donor funded projects
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.
- Diploma or degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Livelihoods, or a related field
- Valid driving license (mandatory) and willingness to travel extensively to communities
- Strong report writing skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications
- Experience working with communities, trainings, or development programs will be an advantage
- Strong communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills
