PNG DataCo seeks an experienced specialist to maintain and optimize systems, servers, data centre, and network environments ensuring secure and high-performance operations.

PNG DataCo is looking for a Systems, Servers, Data Centre IP & Network Specialist to join their team. This role is essential for supporting enterprise and customer services by maintaining secure, resilient, and high-performing systems, servers, data centre, cloud, and network infrastructures.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.

  • Administer and optimize Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization platforms and core data center infrastructure.
  • Support LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN and security environments to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
  • Maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure, including backup, disaster recovery and high availability capabilities.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, manage change activities and maintain technical documentation.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and technology partners to deliver operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.

  • Degree in ICT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications or a related discipline.
  • 3–7 years’ experience in enterprise systems, server, cloud, data centre or network operations.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure security, resilience, monitoring and incident management.
  • Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Huawei, VMware or recognized cloud certifications are highly regarded.
  • Technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrates accountability, teamwork, and a continuous improvement mindset.
