Paradise Foods Limited in Lae seeks a detail-focused Shipping Officer to coordinate outbound goods shipments ensuring timely and compliant dispatch within the food production sector.
Paradise Foods Limited invites qualified candidates to join their team as a Shipping Officer based in Lae, Papua New Guinea. This role plays a key part in ensuring all outbound shipments of food products are efficiently coordinated and meet both company standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.
- Coordinate all outbound shipments to ensure goods are dispatched accurately, on time, and in line with business requirements
- Liaise with transporters and freight providers to ensure timely deliveries
- Prepare, verify, and maintain all shipping documentation including delivery dockets, invoices, and packing lists
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate the movement of finished goods from warehouse to customers
- Update shipping transactions in ERP/WMS systems and support stock reconciliation
- Work closely with Warehouse and Logistics Teams to ensure efficient loading and dispatch
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve delivery discrepancies or delays
- Maintain daily shipping and dispatch reports and provide updates to management
- Track shipping containers within detention-free periods to avoid demurrage charges
- Support supply chain operations during peak periods and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Additional certification in Logistics, Shipping, or Supply Chain Operations (preferred)
- 2–4 years’ experience in shipping, dispatch, or logistics operations
- Experience in shipping documentation, transport coordination, and inventory systems
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
