Standard Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Assembly: Assemble, install, and position pipes, fittings, valves, water heaters, and fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers) in residential, commercial, or industrial structures according to building codes.
• Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose system failures, locate leaks or blockages, and perform necessary repairs on supply lines, drainage, and waste water systems.
• Blueprint & Code Compliance: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and building schematics to plan installation routes and ensure full adherence to local, national, or regional plumbing codes.
• Testing & Inspection: Conduct pressure tests, pipe inspections, and backflow evaluations to confirm system safety and operational integrity before final sign-off.
• Safety Protocols & Site Clearance: Prepare risk assessments, execute hot/cold work safely, adhere to health and safety regulations, and keep job sites clean.

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Trade License: A valid Journeyman or Master Plumber license issued by a relevant regulatory body or local authority.
• Education & Apprenticeship: Formal completion of a certified plumbing apprenticeship program (typically 3–5 years) or a diploma/certificate in plumbing from a recognized trade or vocational institute.
• Specialized Certifications (Optional/Role-Specific):
  • Gas Plumbing / Gas Fitter certification for working on gas lines and fuel-burning appliances.
  • Backflow Prevention certification for testing and servicing water supply protection devices.
• Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license (for field service roles) and relevant workplace safety clearances.

Key Technical & Practical Skills

• Technical Skills: Pipe cutting, threading, soldering, brazing, solvent welding, and working with materials such as PVC, copper, PEX, and iron.
• Diagnostic Ability: Strong troubleshooting skills using tools like drain inspection cameras, hydro-jetting units, and pressure gauges.
• Physical Fitness: Physical endurance to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and maneuver in tight or confined spaces.
• Soft Skills: Communication skills for client interactions, time management, and problem-solving.
