Steamships is hiring an HSSEQ Manager in Port Moresby to lead risk management compliance and support operational safety standards in the logistics sector.

The HSSEQ Manager at Steamships is a vital leadership role focused on ensuring risk management and health, safety, security, environment, and quality compliance within logistics operations. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key duties and contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the role and organisation.

  • Provide leadership and direction in Risk Management compliance
  • Support operations to ensure compliance with Steamships Group standards

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following education, experience, technical competencies, and professional attributes required to successfully perform this role.

  • Degree in Environmental science or relevant higher
  • Grade 12 minimum with post Specialist Studies in HSSE related field equivalent to a Certificate IV
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum 3 years in the Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality field
  • Experience in Safety Management Systems
  • Minimum 2 years in a Supervisory and/or Managerial Role
  • Basic understanding of Logistics Operations and associated risks
  • Ability to address difficult challenges immediately
  • Comprehension and capability in applying and improving Safety Management Systems
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in PNG Health and Safety Acts
  • General knowledge of Logistics Operations
  • Deadline Oriented and Attention to Detail
