Coral Sea Hotels is inviting applications for the position of Hotel Accountant at the Highlander Hotel in Port Moresby. The successful candidate will manage all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective control, to contribute to the hotel’s success and ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the hotel’s overall financial operations, including revenue reconciliation and cash management.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll verification, and financial record keeping.
• Support budgeting efforts and monitor financial performance across departments.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Work closely with operational leaders to provide timely and accurate financial reports.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and assist with audits to maintain financial stability.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Certificate or Diploma in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years’ experience in hotel or hospitality accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel/financial spreadsheets.
• Understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and compliance with financial policies.
• Attention to detail with the ability to produce clear management reports and meet deadlines.
