WWF-Pacific in Papua New Guinea is hiring a Communications Officer to enhance public awareness and support conservation efforts through engaging media content and strategic communication.
The Communications Officer at WWF-Pacific will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s visibility and support for nature-positive initiatives in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality content such as articles, media releases, blogs, photos, and videos.
- Manage communication efforts across traditional and digital platforms (TV, radio, print, social media).
- Assist in creating and executing communication strategies and campaigns.
- Engage with media, stakeholders, and the public to amplify conservation messages.
- Maintain communication databases and ensure content systems are updated.
- Ensure all communication adheres to WWF branding and donor visibility standards.
- Monitor communication effectiveness and provide insights for improvement.
- Support event coordination and communications logistics.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Marketing, or related field, or 3+ years of related experience.
- Proven experience managing and creating content for social media platforms.
- Knowledge of digital communication tools and content management systems.
- Understanding of environmental or conservation issues in PNG or globally.
- Experience working in multicultural or international settings is a plus.
