About the Role

Reporting to the Site Services Coordinator, the Heavy Equipment Fitter will be responsible for the service, repair, and maintenance of heavy diesel equipment—with a strong focus on Cummins and MTU generators. The role also includes working on trucks, dozers, front-end loaders, roller/compactors, bobcats, and other mobile mining machinery.

The position plays a key role in ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of K92 Mining’s underground mine and surface mobile fleet to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain underground and surface heavy diesel equipment.
• Diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and respond to breakdowns.
• Provide guidance and technical support to maintenance staff.
• Maintain adequate spare parts stock and place orders as needed.
• Ensure safe work practices in line with company policy and government regulations.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications and Experience Required

To be considered, candidates must have:

• NATTB-certified Trade Certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the mining or heavy construction industry.
• Experience with diesel generators and power generation equipment.
• Knowledge of large generators for prime power supply in mining or power station environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work extended hours if required.
