2026 is looking bright with the announcement of this wonderful scholarship opportunity. The Advanced Diploma in Eye Care (ADEC) Scholarship opportunity for Nurses or Health Extension Officers (HEOs) passionate about helping communities through specialized eye care services. Divine Word University (DWU), Madang, in partnership with The Fred Hollows Foundation New Zealand (FHFNZ), is offering scholarships for the 2026 Advanced Diploma in Eye Care (ADEC).

🎓 About the Program

• Course: Advanced Diploma in Eye Care (ADEC)
• Duration: 1 year, full-time (2026 academic year)
• Location: DWU, Madang

Goal: Equip health workers with the skills to deliver effective and comprehensive eye care in Papua New Guinea.

✅ Entry Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing or Health Extension
• At least 2 years’ work experience (eye care experience is an advantage)
• Currently employed in a health service with employer endorsement
• Character & professional references

💰 Scholarship Covers

• Tuition & registration fees at DWU
• Return travel (province to Madang, if required)
• Textbooks, materials & ophthalmic equipment
• Accommodation & meals at DWU dormitory
• Subsidized laptop (PGK 800) – mandatory for the paperless program
